La Llosa de Sant Feliu de Guíxols
A rock off the town's port, 5 m down to 24 m

A rock formation opposite the port of Sant Feliu, running from 5 m at the top to 24 m where it meets the bottom, and dived from a boat. The shallow shoulders and the posidonia meadow around it carry most of the interest: anemones, nudibranchs, octopus, moray eels and schools of damselfish over the seagrass.

The dive
La Llosa lies opposite the port, so the run out is a short one, and the rock spans the whole dive: 5 m at its shallowest, 24 m where it meets the bottom. That range is the plan in itself — work the deeper rock first and finish over the top of the formation, where the light is better and the last minutes are spent over structure rather than open water.
Around the rock are meadows of Posidonia oceanica, and the seagrass is where the dive slows down. It shelters anemones, nudibranchs, octopus, moray eels and schools of damselfish. The logged sightings on the site are led by moray eels, fourteen of them, with lobster next at eight, so this is a dive to work slowly and close to the rock rather than one to cover ground on.

Season follows Costa Brava: Centres in Sant Feliu and Platja d'Aro dive all year; logged sightings peak July to September and the water sits at 13 °C from January to March.
