Five rocky spurs and the corridors between them

Five rocky tongues running out into the sea in Cala dels Penjats, the cove south of the town beach, at depths between 10 and 25 m. The dive is the corridors between them, where mullet, bream and damselfish school along the rock and moray eels have been logged ninety-eight times.

The dive

The site sits in Cala dels Penjats, the cove immediately south of Sant Feliu's beach, and is reached by boat. What you drop onto is a set of five tongues of land that push out into the sea and fall away between 10 and 25 m, so the structure is regular: rock, gap, rock, gap, with the ground deepening as the spurs run offshore.

The corridors are the dive. Marine fauna and flora gather along them, with schools of mullet, bream and damselfish working the length of the rock, and moray eels have been logged ninety-eight times on the catalogue page. A slow pass down one corridor and back up the next uses the full depth range without ever leaving the structure.
