Faro del Lobos
A volcanic plateau at 24 m dropping to sand at 35 m

The deepest of the Lobos sites, at the northernmost end of the volcanic plateau. You descend onto the platform around 24 metres and follow it east to where it drops away to a sandy bottom at 35, through massive fallen rocks that form cracks and overhangs. Angel sharks and rays rest on the sand at the foot of the drop.

The dive
This is the northernmost underwater extension of the volcanic plateau off Lobos, and the deepest of the named Lobos sites. You descend onto the plateau at around 24 metres and head east, following it out to where it drops away towards a sandy bottom at a maximum of 35. There is no shallow ground to work back to except the plateau itself.
The terrain out there is made of massive fallen rocks, and the gaps between them form cracks and overhangs that hold the fish. Groupers sit back in the cracks in the plateau, out of the light. Yellowfin jacks and barracuda work the water above and are frequently seen hunting sardines, which is what the depth of this site buys you.
On the sand at the foot of the drop, angel sharks and rays lie up. With the shallowest ground at 24 metres and the bottom at 35, the no-decompression clock is the shortest of any of the Lobos dives, so the plan is fixed before the descent: out east, one pass along the drop, then back up onto the plateau for the ascent and the stop.

Season follows Fuerteventura: Divable in every month; water runs 18–23°C, coolest in late winter and warmest from August into October, and the desert climate keeps conditions mild.
