Dragon Bay
Finger coral, a small tug and a slope to 28 metres

Dragon Bay is dived as one descending route: finger-shaped coral patches in the shallows, a small tug boat wreck on the bottom, then a steep slope running south towards Molinere Point. The profile stretches from about 5 to 28 metres, which is why this Grenada Marine Park site is used by snorkellers, new divers and experienced ones alike.
Also known as Dragon Bay Reef.

The dive
The dive begins over the finger-shaped coral patches of Dragon Bay, in water shallow enough for snorkellers to follow the same ground from the surface, then drops onto a small tug boat wreck lying below. From there the route heads south along a steep slope towards Molinere Point, so this is one continuous line rather than a loop back to where you started.
In the shallows the ground is angular volcanic rock, punctuated by sand channels and deep fissures worth putting a light into. Over the edge, hard corals, gorgonians and tufts of black coral cling to the wall, which runs down to about 28 metres. Fish life is abundant along the whole route — grouper, French angelfish, chromis and spotted moray eels — and the shallow end of the site keeps the profile manageable despite the depth at the far end.
