Les Cambres
A hall under a surfacing stone, with conger in the holes

The far end of the Trencabraços tunnel, and a dive in its own right: a wall running out to the tip of Trencabraços, a hall under a huge stone that rises to the surface, and a sandy creek with octopus and moray on the way back. Depths run from 5 to 22 m and access is by boat only.

The dive
Access is only by boat. From the mooring the wall runs from 7 m down to 22 m and out to the tip of Trencabraços, which is the outbound leg and the deeper half of the dive. The operator lists the area as suitable for the second dive of the day and for all levels, and the depth range is shallow enough for both of those to hold.
The way back goes round the huge stone that rises to the surface, through a hall where conger lurk in their holes, and then up a creek where octopus and moray live in the soil between the rocks. For the more experienced there is a tunnel on the wall a few metres from the mooring that leads through to the other side of the point; it is narrow in some sections, with no major branches, and a guide is advised the first time you cross.

Season follows Costa Brava: Water runs from about 13 °C in February to 25 °C in July and August; no L'Escala centre publishes closing months, and the tramuntana can keep boats in port in any month.

- The tunnel through to Trencabraços is narrow in places; the operator advises going with a guide the first time you cross it.
