Kallithea Bay is a shallow bay on the east coast of Rhodes, about 9 km from Rhodes Town, dived for its cavern formations and the local reef fish. Trident Diving School lists the site at 10 to 22 m, and H2O Diving Center describes it as a shallow bay with a variety of local species and cavern formations. It is one of the island's shore sites, set in a small inlet.

The dive
Kallithea is a shore dive in a small inlet on the east side of the island, about 9 km from Rhodes Town. You walk in from the inlet, and the dive settles into the 10 to 22 m range that Trident Diving School quotes for the site. The terrain is the reason to be here: the bay is cut with cavern formations that you move between and look into, with the guide deciding how far in anyone goes.
The fish are the local Mediterranean cast, which H2O Diving Center sums up as a variety of local species. Work along the rock at depth, moving from formation to formation, then come back up into the shallows of the bay for the safety stop and the walk out. With a 22 m maximum and a shore entry, it is one of the easier dives on the island to fit into a day.

Season follows Rhodes: May to October is the season, peaking July to September; centres still run in October, charter flights stop after October, and very little is dived from November to March.
