Macromania sits in the water near Pulau Mahumu, in the middle of the Sangihe chain, and is documented for its seaweed beds and the variety of its corals. The dive covers a wide vertical band — coral garden, Montipora and sponge garden between two and twenty metres — and the current running under it is strong enough that basic-to-intermediate skills are the stated minimum.

The dive
The whole site is documented as a single band: coral garden, Montipora and sponge garden from two metres down to twenty. That makes the profile a matter of choosing a depth and working along it rather than following a described route — no sequence of features is published for this reef, only the range they sit across and the seaweed beds the water is known for.
Two metres of water at the top of the site means the shallow end is genuinely shallow, so a long, slow finish costs nothing. What makes it more than a beginner's reef is the water: the current underneath is described as fairly strong, and local guidance puts the requirement at basic through intermediate diving skill rather than none at all. Agree the direction with the boat before you go in.
