A reef that can be circled between 18 and 32 m, with the descent made directly onto the rock and no navigation puzzle to solve first. The walls are heavily covered in fixed life, sar and conger eels hold on and in them, and the catalogue records the remains of a vessel called the Phedon on the site.

The dive
This is a dive without complications: the boat drops you and you descend directly onto the reef, then go around it, working between 18 and 32 m as the rock allows. The circuit is the plan, so navigation comes down to keeping the reef on one shoulder and watching the gas, rather than searching for a feature or following a compass line across open ground.
The walls carry a lot of fixed life, and the fauna attached to them is the reason to dive slowly rather than complete the lap quickly. Sar shoal along the faces, conger eels sit back in the holes, rays lift off the bottom and lobster hold under the ledges, with flabellina nudibranchs, dalmatian dory and scabbardfish among the smaller finds. The catalogue also puts the remains of the Phedon on the site, an added draw for divers who like something built into a natural reef dive.

Season follows Cap de Creus: Jun–Sep is warmest and calmest; the Tramuntana blows hardest in winter and spring and regularly cancels boats for days at a time.
