Moraig's Cave
Light-filled entrance caverns at 15 m, one leading into a 2 km cave

Two small cave systems in the rock at Moraig, 15 minutes from Moraira, with a maximum depth of about 15 m. Light fills the entrance caverns and the rock around them holds octopus, butterfly rays and damselfish; one of the two caves continues into a 2 km cave that is a different dive, for trained cave divers.

The dive
Moraig's Cave is a shallow dive, about 15 m at its deepest, that centres on two small cave systems in the rock, and the operator rates it as suitable for everyone, including divers with little experience. You drop in over the rock formations outside and work along to the cave mouths, where the daylight coming in is the point of the dive: the entrance caverns are small and lit, and the light in them is what the site is known for.
Between the caves and the rock formations around them the marine life is octopus, butterfly rays and damselfish. One of the two systems does not stop at the cavern: it leads on into a cave 2 km long, and that part is a different dive entirely, for divers with cave training and the equipment to match. Recreational divers stay within sight of daylight and finish the dive back on the rock outside.

Season follows Costa Blanca: Dived all year, but the water sits near 14 °C from January to March and the season is treated as starting in spring; peak-season boat traffic closes some cave surfacing.
