Rock steps from an 18 m anchorage down to 25 m

Els Bullents is a boat dive on separated rocks with the anchor set at 18 metres and the ground bottoming out at 25. It has no single feature to aim for; the catalogue rates it one of the most biologically diverse dives on this stretch of coast and tells divers to watch the open water as well as the rock.

The dive
The boat anchors on the rock at 18 metres and the dive drops from there. From the anchorage you work down through a series of separate rocks, each with its own faces and cracks, until the ground bottoms out at around 25 metres. Blanes-Sub gives the site a wider band than the catalogue does, 4 to 30 metres, so how much of that spread you actually dive depends on the route the guide takes and the level of the group.
There is no wreck, arch or pinnacle to organise the dive around, and the interest is the density of life on the rock itself, which the catalogue rates as one of the most biologically diverse dives in this area. Its other instruction is to keep looking out into the blue rather than only at the stone, because the site sits on a passage for species that are not resident on it. None of them is named, so take that as a reason to stay aware rather than as a promise of anything in particular.

Season follows Costa Brava: Water holds above 20 °C from June to October and tops out around 25–26 °C in August; winter dives run at 12–14 °C.
